Budbreaking News - Updated 2/5/10
Wine news:
Sadness is....we are sold out of Three Amigos.  It will be returning for you in March or April.  Bashful Ewe, our semi-sweet rose' is also sold out.

Happiness is...a special sweet batch of Henpecked Red.  Joe made it a bit sweeter this time just for you sweetie pies.  Yep, it is just as sweet as Three Amigos.  This is the first wine released from the 2009 harvest.  It's fruity, sweet and dark.  Come give it a taste.

Also, most of the time we are serving up our white wine, Sour Puss, with our mulling spice.  Served hot, it will warm you to the core.  Goes great with Bull Headed, too.

For those that are internally warm, we have the original purple slushy mix and the white wine lemon slushy mix is available again by popular demand.  Go for it, you polar bears!

Special Performance!
Red Mask Players are presenting Talley's Folly, a Pulitzer-prize winning play about a man who meets a woman and falls in love.  But of course, there are "issues" that will make you laugh.  Come early, bring your own Valentine's treats or purchase our specially made cheesecakes, cupcakes and flour-less chocolate cake created our very own Jean of Raining Leaves.  Yum, fun and smiles!  Seating begins at 6 PM with curtain call at 7 PM for three nights on Feb 12, 13 and 14.  Feb 13 is SOLD OUT but there are a few seats left for the other nights.  Call us to make your reservations.

Tasting Room news:
Enjoy a free cup of joe and a conversation with Joe the winemaker on Free Coffee Sundays.  We are featuring a different Raven's Brew Coffee every Sunday.  Wicked Wolf, Deadman's Reach and Three Peckered Billy Goat are our favorites.

Our tasting room is pretty bare after all of the holiday shopping but we still have lots of wine accessories and unique gifts.  To fill up the room, we roll out the ping pong table once in a while.  Come and play.

Music news:
Remember that many of our musical performances sell out in advance as we only have 75 seats.  Buy your seats in advanced at our tasting room or over the phone with a credit card or by mailing a check.  We continue the tradition of allowing you to bring your own own goodies to snack on but we often have some snacks for sale too.  Besides wine by the bottle and glass (including our famous wine slushies), we currently offer a small selection of small craft beers from Goose Island, soda, coffee and bottled water available for purchase.

Saturday, Feb 20 at 7 PM:  Daphne Willis  $12
This twenty-something woman has a strong soulful voice that reminds us of a female Jack Johnson.  Bluesy with a pop edge, her lyrics and music will make you tap your toes.  Our local gal, Heather Dively is opening for Daphne.

Saturday, March 13 at 7 PM:  Lehto & Wright  $12
Celtic folk rock at its best, this duo performs traditional and contemporary folk music with an eclectic twist.  Come celebrate St. Patrick's Day with us.

Thursday, Apr 1 at 7 PM:
Steve Poltz  $15
Crazy and zany, Steve just returns from a tour in Australia.  New music, stories and who knows what else, this is the PERFECT way to spend April Fool's Day with the ultimate fools and fans of Sleepy Creek.

Saturday, Apr 10 at 7 PM:  Christabel and the Jons  $12
A curious and pleasant mix of old time swing, speakeasy  jazz, modern pop and upbeat country, we are excited to present these performers to you.

Art News:
Artist Jason Bentley is featured in the Hayloft Art Gallery now through March 21.  Jason is a local artist, musician and talented.  He uses charcoal, water colors and mixed media to portray people important to him.

And it's time!  We are calling out to all artists and creative types for  the 4th annual Sow's Ear Challenge.  The theme:  Plastic containment devices.  The challenge is open to anyone who wants to take used and discarded plastic bottles and other plastic containers headed to the landfill and re-fashion them into something artistic, beautiful and/or functional.   All entries must be received between Mar 19 – 31, 2010.  People's Choice Award winner receives $100.
