The Bashful Youngens are an Americana duo out of Champaign, Illinois featuring the acoustic stylings of Carrie Chandler-Harrison (mandolin, guitar, vocals) and Aaron Short (harmonica, guitar, vocals). Carrie and Aaron met and became friends in 2010 while in college after growing up in neighboring towns. They quickly learned they shared a similar love of music and immediately began playing covers together just for fun, performing at open mic's. Sleepy Creek is excited to welcome back Blessid Union of Souls! This is their fourth visit to sleepy Creek and this time we get the full band!
Just for the record, Blessid Union of Souls has thus far clocked in a number one smash, a trio of top tens, five top 20 tunes and seven to hit the top 40, spanning the diverse likes of the iconic ballad “I Believe,” the quirky and colorful “Hey Leonardo (She Likes Me For Me),” the acoustically framed “Light In Your Eyes,” plus romantic favorites like “I Wanna Be There” and “Let Me Be the One” (to name a mere handful)."
From meteoric rise on the radio throughout the 1990s, through the subsequent decade of thought-provoking songwriting and amassing an extremely dedicated fan base on tour, Blessid Union of Souls has become amongst the most beloved, meaningful and musically consistent acts of this generation.

Charlie Parr finally returns to our stage at Sleepy Creek. Many people play roots music, but few modern musicians live those roots like Minnesota's Charlie Parr. Recording since the earliest days of the 21st century, Parr's heartfelt and plaintive original folk blues and traditional spirituals don't strive for authenticity: They are authentic. As a boy, he was influenced by America's musical founding fathers, including Charley Patton and Lightnin' Hopkins, Woody Guthrie and Leadbelly. As an adult, he looks and sounds like he is a founding father himself. His inspiration is drawn from the frozen soil of Minnesota where he grew up and still lives. Find out more about Charlie at: http://charlieparr.com/
