WHO IS THIS SLEEPY CREEK AND WHERE IS THIS FESTIVAL

Admission is free

Located three miles south of Oakwood, Illinois, just off Interstate 74 between Danville and Urbana. The Sleepy Creek Vineyards Art & Music Festival is held annually on the grounds of Sleepy Creek Vineyards. The Festival was first started in 2008. The Art Fest provides a pastoral and relaxed setting for art, music, and wine lovers to shop for fine crafts, folk art,  fine art, and more. The Art Fest includes up to 30 artists (some demonstrating their craft), live music and entertainment, tasty food, and wine slushies.  A fun, laid back, friendly and entertaining venue, this event draws an eclectic crowd from nearby cities in both Illinois and Indiana.  You’ll find great art from funky to traditional, a broad variety of music (Folk, Blues, Americana, Soul, Rock, and Country) and delicous Sleepy Creek Wine!

A little about your hosts

Whether a wine novice or aficionado, we provide you with wine, entertainment, education and relaxation in a rustic, comfortable setting. Joe and Dawn Taylor started Sleepy Creek Vineyards in 2002 with their first grapevine plantings and the winery opened their doors 2007.  In 2016 Janette and Erik took over the winery.  With their own grapes, as well as grapes from other Midwestern growers, they currently produce about 30,000 bottles a year.  Their award winning wines include the dry to sweet, white, rosé and red wines and some unusual fruit wines, such as their Winey Mary, a crazy good tomato and jalapeno wine that makes wonderful mocktails in a Dirty Martini or Bloody Mary.

Sleepy Creek Vineyards is a great destination to meet friends and socialize.  They offer periodic live music by original singers and songwriters, as well as other great entertainment. Along with the Art & Music Festival, other fun and unique Sleepy Creek events include the Friday Night Wieners and Wine, Winey Mary Bar every Sunday, Sleepy Creek Music Series, and more. Have a look at  our events for a schedule of current events.
